This series just got better!

Finally! After waiting not-so-patiently for book 2 in The Gateway Trilogy, I was finally able to devour Spirit Prophecy! And devour is exactly what I did. This book picks up, quite literally, right where book 1 left off. Holmes wastes no time getting the ball rolling either, as this story progressed quite nicely. Our heroine Jess is back in action with her twin sister, Hannah and her quick-witted, sometimes smart-mouthed sidekick, Milo. Seriously, who wouldn't love Milo? While we are able to spend some quality time getting reacquainted with Jess and Milo, we get to know Hannah better as well. In addition to these three, we are introduced to a load of new characters that are…..interesting, to put it mildly. Holmes has the ability to introduce characters and have you feel like you’ve known them for a while or at the very least wish you knew them. Along with the new characters, we are treated to a new setting as well, one of my favorites places to read about…the U.K.

All of the things I loved about Holmes’ writing Spirit Legacy are present in Spirit Prophecy…the interesting characters, the unique storyline, the creepiness, the believability and the straightforwardness. She doesn’t use any arbitrary plot devices, but instead using good storytelling! The crew has lots of mysteries to solve and what fun it is “watching” as things unfold.

E.E. Holmes has created a genius story here and has gone about telling it in all the right ways. It’s writers like Holmes that remind me why I love reading so much…to escape, to visit other worlds and to be entertained. She has become not only one of my favorite YA paranormal authors, but one of my favorites, in general.

If you haven’t read Spirit Legacy, book 1 in The Gateway Trilogy yet, what are you waiting for?? Read it so that you can move on to Spiriting Prophecy. You won’t be disappointed! I know Holmes will draw you into this story just as she did me, and you’ll be chomping at the bit for more!

A "spirited" story you won't want to put down!

I absolutely devoured this book in less than one day. The first book in the series, Spirit Legacy, was a clever and captivating story; and the second installment is not a disappointment. You dive deeper into the characters you already love, and you are introduced to many more characters that you instantly connect with. This story perfectly balances excitement and intrigue. You won't want to put this book down, and you will be eagerly awaiting the last book in the series. E.E. Holmes is a talented and "spirited" author who produces stories that just make you enjoy reading….and that is quite a challenge for someone like myself who doesn't usually enjoy reading!!! Highly recommend all of this author's work!

I purchased this book with a sole intention of clearing ISTQB - Foundation level Exam.Meanwhile i realized that my foundation in testing had really got better once I started reading up this book.It helps learn the basic concepts in testing,terms,techniques,methodologies,process etc.

And of course the best book to clear ISTQB Foundation level exam.

Yes, you can pass the exam with this book

Like some other reviewers, I used this book to prepare the exam (I did not attend to a course or whatever) and I succeeded. The book focuses on the content of the exam and provides samples questions, which is exactly what you are looking for since your are here looking for ISTQB books.

I add that I am French and I passed the CFTL/ISTQB French exam. Even if the exam uses French terms ("unit tests" becomes "tests unitaires" and so on), the book works just fine as translations are straightforward.

ISTQB or ASTQB exam

Today I cleared ASTQB exam with 80% solely depending on this book. I would recommend to any one preparing for the ISTQB or ASTQB exam to throughly study(my preparation was for 1 month) this book along with some online mock question papers. This book does not cover the latest i.e.,
April 2010 modified glossary and references terms but can be studied through ISTQB site. Just this book is enough for any one get through the foundation level exam.

The Rest is Noise

I bought this book knowing full well ahead of time that the author, Jim Fraser, is a highly experienced and well renowned expert witness and forensic criminal scientist in the U.K., whilst I am a simple forensic engineer in the U.S., who absolutely loved the way he writes what he thinks unrestrained by popular convention. Unabashed, Jim takes on the contemporary aspects of forensic science with glee and, like a masterful medical examiner, performs an Oscar-worthy autopsy. re-painting the forensic science landscape in the process. If not for the locked-in precedence already established by the "Very Short" series, this book could have also been titled: "A Very Condensed Handbook of Forensic Science". (Here, I am paying homage to the book "Handbook of Forensic Science", also authored by Jim Fraser and co-authored with Robin Williams; a wonderfully written treatise on the subject.) If forensic science is your passion, only your failure to buy this book, study and understand it, would be the crime.
