Beautiful and inspiring!

I love Asa - she is my favorite on Shahs and I love that this book shares so much more of her personal story in such a beautiful and inspiring way! This is a really fun and easy to read book, and I was really inspired to read about the way Asa has used her rituals to create her dream life - and I am excited to give it a try! I also LOVED reading more about her relationship and personal life since that is something that she understandably keeps off the show. This is a must read for fans of Shahs, but honestly I think anyone who loves inspirational memoirs and personal development books would also love it!!

About the Author
Born in the 1970s in Ankara, Turkey, to a Turkish father and an American mother, Khadeejah Mehmet Akyurt eventually moved with her family to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. She completed the memorization of the Qur’an secretly on her own by age 16, and soon after graduated from Al-Nasifiyah High School and ranked 2nd in the Western Region of Saudi Arabia. She then studied tajweed at the hands of Ustathah Aishah Seriou at Dar At-Taqwa, and in 1996 earned her ijazah from Sheikh Dr. Adel Ibrahim Abushaar and was honored by Sheikh Dr. Ayman Suweid attending the khatmah and signing on her ijazah. Ms. Akyurt got married and moved to the Washington D.C . Metro Area, USA where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a minor in physics, graduated summa cum laude, and was given the academic achievement award by her department. Khadeejah has completed six years of Islamic and Arabic studies from four colleges and universities, and has two pre-teen daughters whom she homeschools. She has been teaching tajweed for 18 years at Dar Al-Hijrah Islamic Center.

This book "Tajweed Diagrams I & II" has taken all of the charts from the book: TAJWID: The Art of Recitation of the Qur'an by Abdul Majid Khan, published by Tughra Books.
The author has taken the charts, graphs and tables from the The Art of Recitation of the Qur'an and drew the diagrams using drawing software and included lots of colors. The book is also missing othe rTajwid related charts from TAJWID: The Art of Recitation of the Qur'an. The book is also very expensive ($24.99) with compare to The Art of Recitation of the Qur'an at discounted price of $9.95.

Explore the world of option trading

I learned a lot from this book. I have been trading stocks since I was in college –at least a decade or so. One of the things that you often hear about investing is to only invest in what you know. Well, for all this time, I have never traded in options because I have never been able to get my head around them. Now that I have read this book, options trading finally clicked with me. Not only do I know get the power and opportunities that options trading provides, but I also now understand. This book is a great guide and I recommend it for those looking to explore the world of option trading.

I ran out of highlighter, reading this book

I haven't traded options in over 20 years, but this book got me excited, again. Twenty years ago, you had none of the technology we have today. At that time, trading options was hit or miss proposition. Now, easy access to information can improve your odds of having a winning trade.

This book not only shows you popular, profitable option strategies, but also what could go wrong, if the underlying stock price moves away from you. Being a conservative investor, I'm always interested in strategies which can reduce my risk, while bumping-up my returns and options can help reduce risk, if properly positioned. This book is a good resource for anyone looking for an additional way to reduce their risk of stock holdings and/or increase overall returns.

don't let this one slip by!

As a collector of vintage automobile ads I was happy to see Taschen add this work to its catalog. Almost everything they produce is well done and reasonably priced. This title is no exception. In fact, I would have to say, that given the generous discount Amazon offers - it's a steal. This is a large book that presents the ads to their best advantage. And although the images can be less than perfect, one has to remember they were reproduced from older magazines that lacked todays printing technology. The images are largely artist's renderings, produced at a time when photography was not as widely employed in automobile advertising. My only complaint is, and this is a rather personal consideration, I would have rather they focused entirely on vehicles produced prior to 1960 with a greater emphasis on those classics from the Golden Age (20s & 30s). I recognize, however, Taschen is not marketing to an audience of one, so, I forgive them. There is little available in this field and even fewer offerings as nicely produced. A definite must have for car enthusiasts and automobile ephemera collectors alike. - Thanks Taschen

Fascinating book - lots more than just pictures.

I bought this book as a gift for my husband, who loves cars. It's a fascinating book. My husband keeps it on the coffee table, picks it up and gets engrossed in it whenever he has time, and keeps going back to it. He gets out a magnifying lens to read some of the tinier print, he is that interested. I was reading Dennis Lehane's novel, The Given Day, which mentions several WWI era cars, the Auburn and the Oakland, and my husband was able to show me pictures of both. My husband has a library of bargain books of photos of cars and other vehicles and enjoys perusing them all from time to time, but this is book has a lot more to offer, worth buying at full price.

wealth of information and pictures

When I received this 941-page (not including the index) volume, I began reading at my birthyear, on up to today. Some ideas surprised me: "this didn't happen until I finished college!" Then I went back to the very beginning at pre-500 CE and skimmed through. I read pages connected with my ancestors' birthyears more closely.

This volume has over 900 striking illustrations, charts and photography which add much to the enjoyment of this volume.

I recognized several terms from watching The Big Bang Theory (every episode guarantees a laugh), such as Higgs Boson (1964) and String Theory (1969).

This book rates only 4 stars because the type-face is small with faded print. Eye-strain was a result. If we could make it 1002 Ideas, I'd recommend a darker print for this book.

Three year's of ideas...one day at a time

If you consider yourself to be an intellectual or love to play in the world of ideas or are just plain curious about everything, this is the book for you. At 960 pages, this book can be classified as a tome. The book is organized sequentially by time period beginning with 1,600,000 BCE (human control of fire) and ends in 2012 (commercial space flight and non-junk DNA). Each page explores one or two separate ideas. In addition to its time sequencing, there is a category index at the beginning of the book and an alphabetical index at the end of the book. Most of the entries are fascinating. Some of my favorites - infinite monkey theorem, maxwell's demon, the tipping point, meme, the problem of evil, what does not kill you makes you stronger, Manichaeism, doublethink, absolute power corrupts absolutely, multiverse, Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus, the Fermi paradox, prisoner's dilemma, the Urey-Miller experiment - and many more. This book is not a quick read, but any given entry is. Read this book and learn something new each day...for close to three years.

Not good, poorly organized.

I really don't like this book. It was the text for the Communications Circuits class I just took, so I had to use it, but I would not recommend it to anyone else.

Like most other Springer books, they seem to have taken what might have been a good text and cut it down so much that it's confusing and downright painful to read.

The one thing in particular that drives me nuts is that since the pages are so small and the book is so short, they frequently reference figures in the text that are as much as 5 pages before or after the actual text describing the figure, so you find yourself endlessly flipping pages. On top of this, most of the figures are SPICE simulations, and when they reference specific elements in a circuit, say "resistor 1", the figures don't even have labels on the elements- so you have to read the accompanying netlist to figure out which thing they are talking about.

Don't buy this. Springer sucks.

I think this book is the best for readers to see all the details about how to design practical analog circuit building block inside the latest transceiver in the mobile phones brandname such as Nokia, Ericsson, Motorola etc.
